I am shocked today to see that Poland has taken the ITF to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS). They are disputing how, having qualified for Group 1 Davis Cup in 2018, they have now been put in Group 3 for 2019.

It is clear now that the new format was not fully thought through by the ITF staff and board before being put to the AGM last August and I repeat what I wrote in August 2018 in this article. 0-1
Changes were necessary for Davis Cup but this was TOO FAR, TOO FAST!

This action by Poland brings to four the number of cases that the ITF has had to fight over the past 6 months at CAS. Two taken by ITF Board members related to governance issues and two taken by Davis Cup nations disputing the new regulations.

Very sad to see this.
