Just leaving Pakistan after two very productive days in the beautiful city of Islamabad. I had the chance to meet with the President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, Mr Selim Khan, and to share  my vision for the ITF and World tennis.  It was interesting for me to listen to his views, especially on how the ITF can better support federations like Pakistan.

I also visited the National Tennis Centre which had recently been refurbished with the help of an ITF Facility grant.

Selim Khan has put a great team in place at the Federation and I am sure tennis is heading in the right direction under his leadership.

The Federation is busy preparing for the upcoming Davis Cup match with India which will be played on grass in Islamabad on September 14th and 15th. Everything seems in place for a great tennis occasion.

Aisam Quereshi is a member of the Pakistan team. As I say often….It’s a small tennis world. I played college tennis in the same team as his uncle, Davis Cup player Tayab Iftikar.

Next stop Jakarta.
