What a great day at Wimbledon yesterday. I had an early start with a presentation to the Grand Slam Board of my vision for the ITF and tennis going forward.
After this I had a family lunch with my kids before heading to watch the two men’s semi finals. It was an honour to witness the second semi final between Nadal and Federer. The quality and intensity was amazing with these two tennis gladiators giving their all in front of a full stadium. As former singles champ Neil Frazer said to me afterwards…the best match of this century for sure!
I had the chance watching the match to meet up with new Tennis Ireland President Shane Cook and the day finished with the Championship cocktail party where it was nice to meet up with so many tennis friends including former colleague Doug MacCurdy and ex doubles champions Cara and Wayne Black of Zimbabwe whom I have known for over 25 years.
Days don’t come much better than this!
