I’m just leaving Brazil, and heading back to London after 18 days in Latin America.

It was very nice to be back in the beautiful city of Florianópolis and I enjoyed very much spending time with CBT President Rafael Westrupp at the Confederation headquarters.

We had the chance to discuss many matters related to international tennis and to share ideas about the future. We also had a wonderful lunch beside the ocean as we attempted to solve the various challenges facing world tennis! It was also very nice to be present to welcome home the Brazilian Pan American gold medal winner, João Menezes.

Florianópolis is the home of the great Guga Kuerten and I had a very informative meeting with him and his brother Raphael who is a member of the CBT board.

I also witnessed  Guga  conducting a training session with some of Brazil’s top young players. His charisma and positive energy is a great example to us all as is his humility, passion and obvious love of tennis.

Rafael Westrupp has put together a great team at the CBT and I can see tennis is heading in the right direction under his leadership.

Rio, Lisbon and then it’s three days at home in my own bed before I travel again.

Hard to hit a moving target!
