One of my favourite cities is Barcelona and I spent Friday and Saturday at the Godo ATP tournament in the city where I had some meetings. It’s such a great tournament and Albert Costa and his team put on a great event at the historic Real Club de Barcelona.

I did an interview on Friday with a very talented young journalist, Fernando Murciego, who writes for Punto de Break. The interview will be published in Spanish next month.

I also bumped into my former colleague, Sergio Guillem, who worked with the ITF in coach education 10 years ago. He has been busy lately writing tennis books and has recently published a fantastic kids’ book in Spanish and a book on technique using David Ferrer and augmented reality technology. The book is called “Juega como David Ferrer”. He is a very talented guy who is doing a lot for tennis.

There was an exciting finish to the Saturday with Thiem playing great tennis to beat Nadal 6/4 6/4.

Not a bad two days!
