Another busy day of meetings here in Melbourne. But had the chance for a few hours to meet up with former Tennis Australia President and Vice President of the ITF, Geoff Pollard, for lunch and then joined him in the President’s box to watch Roger Federer beat Dan Evans on Rod Laver Arena. During my 17 years attending ITF board meetings, as ITF Director of Development , we spent a lot of time together in so many great cities around the world and it was great to spend a few hours catching up and talking tennis.

I also enjoyed meeting up with tennis legend, former Wimbledon and US Open singles champion, Neale Fraser. I got to know Neale during my time at the ITF when he was on the ITF Davis Cup committee, a competition he won many times as player and captain.

Not many people know that Neale has Irish heritage as his mother was born in Roscommon, Ireland. During the 70’s, long after he won his Grand Slam titles, Neale applied for and got an Irish passport. So technically, Neale Fraser is the last Irish citizen to win Wimbledon!
