Was great to meet up again with Rick Charlesworth in Melbourne together with Edgar Geffinig, former junior National Coach in Germany and USA.
I last saw Rick when we were both speakers at the Australian Open conference in 2002 and here we were 16 years later speakers again! He has done it all. Former Olympic medallist in hockey he was the successful coach of the Australian women’s hockey team that won Olympic gold in 96 and 2000. Member of parliament for 10 years and author of the book “The Coach – Managing for Success”. Great discussions about the future of sport and the challenges to attract and retain young people in sport.
