It was a very nice surprise last weekend during the National Coach Conference, to receive an award from the Greek Tennis Federation President, Spyros Zannias, for my contribution over the years to Greek Tennis.
I first met Spyros at the ITF annual meeting in 1995 in Edinburgh and since then, he has been actively involved in tennis, not only in Greece but also internationally with ITF and Tennis Europe committees. He was Tennis President in 2004 and actively involved in the successful Olympic Tennis event that year.
I am pleased to see that Greece now has two players in the top 100 and I was impressed with the enthusiasm of the 100+ coaches attending the conference and their wish to see Greek Tennis improving further.
