I was honoured to be part of the Asia Pacific conference organised by ATP tour coach Robert Davis in Cambodia. Robert gathered a great group of speakers combining current and former top 100 ATP players with a number of tennis and sports science coaching experts from international tennis.

I was joined in the team of presenters by my good friend and former ITF colleagues Doug MacCurdy and Jean Philippe Fluerien. Jean Philippe was a top 30 player in the 90s.

Former top 70 ATP player, Danai Udomchoke, and current top 70 player and ATP Player Council member, Randy Lu, also presented. Daniel Burberis, former fitness coach for Tennis Australia, made 2 presentations and we also learned valuable lessons from the story of a great Asian tennis family told by former top ITF junior and Davis Cup player, Thanakorn Srichapan, brother of former top 10 player Paradon.

Helping with the organisation was the coach of top Japanese player Sugita, Braen Aneiros. Braen, who was born in Cuba and grew up playing tennis in Panama, is now based in Asia, working as a consultant for Cambodian tennis when not travelling on the tour. ATF board member, Rithi Tep, who is Secretary General and Davis Cup Captain of Cambodia and who has done so much to develop tennis in Cambodia, also attended. A great 4 days!
