Just leaving Jakarta where I had the chance to meet with the President of the Indonesian Tennis Federation, Rildo Ananda Anwar. I was able  to share my vision for the ITF and World tennis and it was interesting for me to listen to his views and those of his other colleagues from the federation.

The Indonesian President has put a good team in place and heading the technical side is Frank Van Fraayenhoven from the Netherlands who is their national coach. I have known Frank since 1985 and he is one of the world’s most knowledgeable coaches. You will see that we have not changed much in 30 years!

I also visited the ITF men’s futures which was taking place in Jakarta and spoke to players and coaches many of whom were very critical of the ITF and its WTT. The ITF spent huge sums of money on a new system that did not work and now have returned to what was there before. In the meantime they managed to upset over 10,000 players and coaches playing  entry level pro tennis. And amazingly, nobody seems to be accountable.

I upgraded myself to business class with my air miles for the journey home. So I’m looking forward to a relaxing  flight on Qatar airways back to London.
